Natural Blinds
For those who are more in tune with natural fibers and materials, there is a great assortment of those available to you.
Cotton is a super fabric for sheen and ease of care; however it does tend to fade in color more readily.
Natural Jute is an easy care and wonderful fabric that is a great texture and wears like iron. It has the added effect of being less likely to fade and is repellent of soil and stain.
The Jute is somewhat less tightly woven so it may not completely darken the room.

Linen is more expensive, but has a natural sheen that only gets better and more pronounced as the fabric colors fade.
Bamboo is a natural wood. Easy to clean and very hardy, bamboo in its natural state is very accustomed to dampening, and will not split when it has been damped down on a regular basis.
This would work well in a bathroom or kitchen. They can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth or a vacuum.
Since bamboo is a natural wood, there will be very slight variations in each blind that make each individual blind unique to itself and a work of art.
Wood Blinds are lovely and come in a multitude of stains and colors, or can be purchased plain wood so that you can stain them the color that you like.

They are easy to wipe clean, and may be cleaned further with a soft brush such as the attachment brush from a vacuum, however do not do well in the damper rooms such as a bathroom unless double sealed to prevent them from drawing damp and warping.
Wood blinds come in a striking array of styles, including slat blinds or woven wood, which is a superb textured look from natural materials they are very effective at filtering sunlight, making them perfect for conservatories, plant rooms or inside gardens. |
